A neighborhood located within San Jose, the county seat and largest city in Santa Clara County, Cambrian Park, California, lies in the San Francisco Bay area of Northern California, just south of San Francisco and within the high-tech hub often referred to as Silicon Valley. Cambrian Park was once its own separately incorporated town, but now it has since been annexed into the city of San Jose. The neighborhood's population was estimated to be around 3,500 as of July 2007 and makes up an area of around 0.6 square mile. Though the neighborhood is part of San Jose, a large part of it actually lies outside of the city limits in an unincorporated so-called "island" administered by Santa Clara County.
Cambrian Park sits at an elevation of 230 feet and has a population density of 5,518 people per square mile. Like much of the Silicon Valley area, the community is quite diverse and filled with a large number of foreigners and immigrants attracted by the many high-tech firms. About 10% of the neighborhood's population is estimated to be foreign-born. Cambrian Park is home to a moderately affluent population, and Cambrian Park real estate prices reflect this. In 2008, the neighborhood's annual household income was estimated to be around $96,500, while Cambrian Park homes were estimated as having a median value of more than $700,000. The per capita income of the area was estimated at nearly $40,000.

The community is also just south of Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. The nearest hospital is just a mile away in San Jose proper, and there are others in Los Gatos and other parts of San Jose.
Cambrian Park Plaza Shopping Center serves as the local shopping point, though there are many, many more shopping centers spread throughout nearby neighborhoods in San Jose and throughout the rest of the county. The nearest parks to Cambrian Park include Houge Park, just west, and Butcher Park, just east of the community. The nearest golf course is La Rinconada Country Club. Many attractions are within just minutes of the community from technology, children's, art and history museums to theaters, musical groups, a symphony, a ballet and two national sports teams -- one National Hockey League team and one Major League Soccer team. San Jose is well-connected to other parts of Santa Clara County by public transportation, with buses, light rails and railroads. It is also served by the Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport, located just two miles north of downtown San Jose.
