Santa Clara

Santa Clara is the third-most populous city in the county. Each day 140,000 people go to work in Santa Clara. That's a lot of jobs!
Right now, the city has 39,231 housing units with 17,406 single-family, 3.096 attached and 18,608 multiples.
Three out of every four homes was built between 1950 and 1980. This is G.I. bill stuff: one story, three bedrooms, one car garage.
The city aggressively pursues business, witness the number of people working here: more than the number of residents. Makes for a great tax base.
The tax base has been used for parks, playgrounds, city-owned golf course and a herd of other activities. The schools get a fair chunk. Plus the residents passed a $175 million renovation bond in 1997.
Its central location makes commuting not so bad. Santa Clara is also close to the San Jose International Airport.
